Anna Sturgeon - ‘Blue Blood’
‘Blue Blood’ is a project that explores the line between fantasy and reality, playing with the real and the simulated that we experience in postmodern society. The work investigates the nature of our experiences through screens and how they impact the way we act, communicate and understand ourselves and our physical environment.
Idealised, visually confusing and non-existent spaces can be seen as both dreamlike and nightmarish, depicting a world from a distance - alluding to the fact that what we experience through technology is more visually pleasing, without fault, but means a physical environment and understanding of the self that is becoming ever more alien to us.
