Neve Clarke - ‘Entangled Interconnections’
My work intends to probe the complexities of our relationship with the wider world. I want to create an open dialogue between human touch and living, organic forms within my work, using printmaking and drawing to visualise these conversations with the non-human.
Much of my drawing is done outdoors, surrounded by the landscapes that inspire me. Natural growth and decay of my materials are key to the artistic process here. Each mark on the page acts as lettering within the visual language I’ve created, with each plate representing a different ‘conversation’.
These organic forms then grow amongst the etching plates, ensuring a conversation between artist, nature and the artistic process itself. This is part of an ongoing project.
